Nexus Announced as DesinAsian’s Media Representative in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan

Jakarta, August 3, 2016—DestinAsian, Southeast Asia’s leading luxury travel magazine, has just appointed Nexus as its new media representative in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. The company takes the place of Mediaworks Asia, which represented DestinAsian in the three territories since the

magazine’s debut in 2001. Mediaworks closed down last Friday, due to founder Kim Kenchington’s plans for early retirement after more than 18 years at the helm, which capped off a long career in the media industry.

DestinAsian Publisher Ronald Liem commented, “We are sad to see Kim’s departure and the closure of her highly respected organisation. From the outset, she has been instrumental in raising our brand awareness and drumming up business in those regions. Hong Kong is one of our key audiences and the magazine’s success there would not have been possible without her work. We wish Kim all the best in her coming retirement. Looking to the future, we are thrilled at the prospect of forging new ties and exploring new opportunities in our partnership with Nexus.”

Tak Man, Managing Director of Nexus, welcomed the move. “Nexus is excited to have DestinAsian join the family of major titles in our growing portfolio. The award-winning DestinAsian magazine has established itself as a leading luxury travel title across the Asian region and we are certain that our relationships with major luxury groups will ensure a great partnership between Nexus and DestinAsian.”

Karen Ko, who recently joined Nexus as General Manager from Mediaworks, remains the key contact for advertisers interested in reaching out to DestinAsian.
